i have taken 447 pictures in a course of two days. This past weekend i woke up at 4am and caught a bus to switzerland. As you can imagine, it was amazing. First thing you notice is how impeccably clean the entire country is. not one piece of trash, for real. we arrived at the southern border of switzerland at about 10am, and got on a tiny red train to enter switzerland. apparently the bus was meeting us on the other side, arriving 2 hours before we would, so sluggish and cramped we were all a little confused as to why we were getting of the effing bus to take a longer train. However, apparently we dont know shit, because this three hour train ride made the entire 19 hours of traveling COMPLETELY worth it. We started winding through swiss/italian back yards filled with lush green grass, billy goats, bulls, waterfalls, ya know the usuall swiss back yard, and began to climb the swiss alps. I cant even explain how absolutely rediculous this little train ride was. ive never seen mountains this gigantic and epic, it was incredible. We opened the windows to the train, and as we accended it started snowing! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i loved it. compeltely 100% happy and loving life. before we knew it we were surrounded by these massive bolders of land and snow and clouds. I cant believe people actually live here! you could see people with dogsleds in the distance! such extreme living. aka jeff in 10 years. i think the highest we came to was 7,750 feet above sea level. The "roads" were marked by those ski poles you see in the olypics, that the guys have to swerve around, and out of nowhere there would be crystal clear aqua lakes and log cabins. It was like nothing ive ever seen and cant possibly ever forget. We stayed the night in a little resort town, pretty quiet but beautiful. The next day we traveled back into italy, and crossing the boarder was a pretty funny experience. You could see the swiss police hanging around outside and playing cards, while 30 feet away the italians were huddled around the heater in their offices, didnt even come outside to check our passports. The street got immediately bumpy, dirty, italian. our tourguide was like "oh see, we back in italy, where they say 'oh yes we fix that hole later.'" Nevertheless i was glad to be back. We winded through little italian mountaintowns and down to the Como lake, italy's biggest lake and one of the most expensive and exclusive spots in all of europe. We took a ferry to Bellagio, located in the middle of the lake where the lake splits like a Y and bellagio is in the center where all three sides connect. Yes Katie its where George Cloney has a house. It was pretty swanky, georgeous to walk around and snap some fotos. thats the italian word for pictures. picture refers to a painting. ive been doing this a lot lately, spelling english words wrong because im getting language confusion. and ive started formulating sentances as i would to translate them, so i just sound like i suck at english as if i was a foreigner. Its almost like im regressing in my own language, but my teacher says im just becoming bilingual. pfff. it still doesnt feel like it!
Anyway, this weekend im going to buckle down because midterms are in two weeks, and jeff comes next weekend! if only graham could come too................HA. just kidding graham. you can come too. okay great.
So i read yesterday that the economic crisis is coming to europe! smaller country's economic systems are crumbling! and why am i excited for this? ohhhh yes euro, you will become weak just like the dollar. Thanks Bush! its about time we level out the playing field!
alright amuurrrica, stay cool.
