highlight number one: i made me the mistake of saying jokingly about a week before jeff came about how i should show up at this ridiculously confusing airport with a neon sign so we cant miss each other. Unfortunately jeff just wouldnt let this go, and although i said no way, im not going to bring a huge home-made bright neon sign to a foreign airport by myself multiple hours away and hold it up while i wait with surrounding strangers to point and chuckle, but of course im weak and caved. So i made it, i brought it, i unrolled it and held it above my head in the midst of caios in the airport, and recieved points and laughs for over an hour before i see his bewildered face arrive and turn and walk down the opposite terminal. I had no choice but to abandon my sign waving and run with excitement. yay highlight number one! he made it!
highlight number two: ok im just going to come out and say it: the hair. We all know that jeff is currently in a time of transition in his life, not only on the inside but his outter appearance as well. And since i was convinced there was no going back with his persistence and stubbornness, i recently chose to support the cause. the hair constantly provides moments of laughter. Just ask him to brush it out. Part it. It looks great.
numero tre: the sausage. ohhh you dirty minds, i mean german sausage! we had great german food. jeff really loved it :)
4: as some may know, jeffrey turned the ripe old age of 23 while he was here! and since im a great girlfriend i planned i nice little extreme excursion: switzerland! basically switzerland is awesome. the most beautiful place i have been. we went to interlaken, where i had some hang gliding planned, it was cool. i think he liked it.
anyway, the rest of the trip was nice. we lost it a couple of times on the 3 hour train rides, locked in a cabin with only each other. really bonding moments.
oh, last highlight! the day he left!
welllll as everyone knows im an emotional ball of whatever, but i told myself this time would be different. i would not get sad because stupid jeff is leaving and i still get to cruise in this awesome country. so on the last day, the whole time we're heading to meet my aunt and go to the airport, being the four year old that i am, is of course on the verg of tears, but i knew it was not going to happen. wellll i didnt know what was ahead. so we get off the subway and find the hotel, and as i walk in the revolving door for some reason jeff runs in behind me so we are in the same tiny revolving triangle shoved together with our luggage on our backs. next thing i know, jeffs backpack strap gets stuck in the back of the door. so the door stops, and he pulls it out, and me, geniously thinking the door is going to speed up so of course i need to run for it, practically run SMACK into the glass door 6 inches from my face. with instant flashbacks of being 6 years old, the tears impulsively streamed forth and the 10 people in the lobby fall to COMPLETE silence.
it was such a great trip.
