oh wonder

i love the days when i happen to check my bank account to find a balance of $2.75. what a wonderful little surprise

currently have the apartment to myself on this friday night, sitting on my couch trying to convert hundreds of pictures to resize and back up so i can send my shitty computer away to get fixed. i got dressed to go out tonight and then just didnt feel like making it out. i am glad the windows are open and the rain keeps pooring down.

update: totally failing at the diet. havent eaten meet though, or diet coke or any heavily processed food. staying strong on the things that matter, yeah?

other things to note this week?
-had yesterday off, spent much of the day being awesome at life with sarahdear.

-as im sure you know erica and i spend all of our evenings partying it up because we are oh so cool, but the other night we rediscovered the camera on my computer and decided to make some magical moments. so tempted to post the most hideous pictures of both of us on here, but im going to use my better judgement and just save them for the flickr. here is a great one though:

we look great, having a gooooddd time. ericas face makes me laugh out loud every time. lookin' good.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

now it would be sunday morning around 5:30am. i really need to start posting these the second i write them, next time. why am i up at 5:30?? i drove home to greensboro yesterday and always without fail i wake up in the middle of the night when i sleep here. no it is not the ghosts.

im going to blame it on the fact that i just finished Into Thin Air tonight, and frankly had a lot on my mind since then. I guess its taken me a month to read it, eh, but i did have to stop and read another book cover to cover for school, sooo turnover time is acceptable. I wish i thought ahead and brought another book home. anyway, as i was reading the last leg of the book, it gets real, REAL heavy. the last 100 pages of the book (and im pretty sure im not ruining the book for anyone) the storm hits and you can do nothing but read about how everyone dies or fights death until they die or barely survive. it was an extremely interesting tale, but this part was pretty difficult to endure. but then i thought about how these people experienced this and i am only reading about it, so i sucked it up. I highly recommend this book, It was a great take on mountaineering and the challenges of climbing in general, and a heartrenching attempt to do justice to the mountain and the lives lost on it. still leaves you feeling pretty shaky though.

birds are chirping, i am tired. i will try to sleep.
